Breckland Council is responsible for the removal of vehicles deemed as abandoned by a Breckland Council officer.
It is not the responsibility of the Local Authority to deal with parking issues/nuisance vehicles or vehicles parked in a dangerous position. If a vehicle has been classed as abandoned, a DVLA check will be carried out to identify the last registered keeper. If the keeper is local a letter will be sent advising that unless a response is received the vehicle will be collected and destroyed.
The Council will not remove a vehicle which is simply out of tax. Report unlicensed vehicles to the DVLA .
Once a vehicle has been collected it is then the responsibility of Norfolk County Council who will then contact the registered keeper and recover the relevant costs.
