Asbestos advice for business
Asbestos in the work place
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has produced guidance on asbestos in the workplace, see: http://www.hse.gov.uk/asbestos/
If you have asbestos and it's not damaged and in a place where it is unlikely to be disturbed, then it should not cause any harm.
If there is some slight damage, you can paint indoor materials with an alkali resistant paint, for example a PVA emulsion.
Badly damaged asbestos materials should only be removed by a suitably trained person.
Information for Businesses
If you have a responsibility for managing the maintenance and repair of a building, you are required by law to manage the asbestos which may be inside. More information on the duty to manage please see: http://www.hse.gov.uk/asbestos/building-owner.htm
Information for Tradesmen
Information on working with asbestos can be found at: http://www.hse.gov.uk/asbestos/tradesperson.htm

- contact a licensed contractor (check the yellow pages or online for companies)
- or take the asbestos to a licensed transfer site (you can find one on Norfolk County Councils website)
