11/08/17: Breckland calls on residents to take part in skills survey

Breckland Council is calling on residents to take part in a survey that will help local companies and boost job prospects by identifying skills gaps and encouraging new training opportunities.

The confidential survey, to be carried out during August and September by Premier Advisory Group, will ask working age adults in the district what training opportunities are currently offered within their workplace, and what further training is needed to help them progress their career.

Cllr Adrian Stasiak, Breckland Council Executive Member for Growth and Commercialisation encouraged people to take part: "We want to hear from as many working age residents in the district as possible, so that we can build a really accurate picture of what is needed."

The Council is also consulting with local businesses, to find out what skills they need in staff to enable their company to succeed and grow.

Cllr Adrian Stasiak continued: "Helping to make Breckland a place where both residents and businesses develop and thrive is a priority for the Council. This survey will give us a better understanding of the current training provision within the workplace and identify where the gaps lie. We will then work with training providers and encourage them to fill these gaps."

Working age residents can take part in the online survey at  www.premieradvisory.co.uk/breckland-adult.  The survey is now live and will run until 15 September 2017. For more information, call Tom at Premier Advisory Group on 07951 858666, or email tom@premieradvisory.co.uk
