Snetterton Power
Introduction
Following the construction of a new primary substation (PSS) at Snetterton Heath, which was led by Breckland Council, power capacity has been reserved for activity that supports Council objectives in the area.
Breckland Council intend to release this power to applicants within the Snetterton Heath area that meet the criteria and policy objectives set out further below.
Application Process
The application process will take the form of a 5-week 'call for power', during which, interested parties can come forward and submit their requirements, along with evidence of how they meet the criteria and policy objectives.
The application window is open on the 21 October and will close on 22 November.

Criteria for the Allocation of Power
The Council will consider applications for any quantum of power, from any commercial user (including both from landowners/developers and individual businesses) based within the Snetterton area.
Those business addresses that fall within the applicable area have been sent a letter from Breckland notifying them of the opportunity, however, if you haven't received a letter, and believe you are eligible, then please email Stephen.Scowen@breckland.gov.uk.
Conditions for Receiving Power Allocations
Any applicant will be required to commit to several key conditions:
- Power can only be reserved for a maximum of 3 years. This will be monitored regularly, and should the Council not be satisfied that the scheme will progress, the power will be re-allocated.
- Commitment to regular monitoring and evaluation, including payment of a one-off administration fee of £5,000 per successful application.
- Confirmation of fit and compliance with key regulations.
