Change of Circumstances for Benefits
If you have an appointment with us about a change of circumstances for a Benefit claim, this is for information that you will need to supply within the appointment.
You will need to bring the following information to your appointment:
- Claim Reference Number
- If you are visiting us for a face to face appointment and do not have a letter containing your benefit claim reference number, please see the webpage other verification options for the other proof of identification that we will accept.
- National Insurance Number
- Details of what's been changed
- Date of when the change happened
Change of Household Members
If the change is adding an additional person/people onto your claim, you will also need:
- The National Insurance Number of people to be added
- The Date of Birth of people to be added
- The income details of people added - earned and unearned
If you are removing someone from your claim, you will need to provide information about:
- When they left
- Their forwarding address
If a newborn baby needs to be added, you will require:
- A birth certificate
Changes of Income
For a change of income, following the initial details required, you will need to provide:
- Updated income details
- Payslips as and when received
Change of Students Situations
To verify students and complete a change of circumstances, we require:
- Student Certificates - place acceptance, this must include the course start and end date. If you have only received an email then the student must go to their admissions office to receive a formal letter.
- Course Information
- Number of hours of study (per week)
- Full details of the college or university in question
