Voting by Post

To vote by post, you must be registered to vote before midnight on Monday 17 April 2023 and your completed application to vote by post must be received by 17:00 on Tuesday 18 April 2023. Your postal vote is sent to the address you choose.

Completed applications for Voting by Post can be emailed as an attachment to elections@breckland.gov.uk or posted to:

Electoral Registration Officer, Breckland Council, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 1EE

If an elector has an existing postal, proxy postal or proxy vote and wishes to cancel or amend it the deadline to do so is 17:00 on Tuesday 18 April 2023.

Postal Vote Packs for Postal Voters and Proxy Postal Voters

Applications to vote by post (post & proxy postal) received before 20 March 2023 will be despatched on or around 18 April 2023.

Applications to vote by post (post & proxy postal) received between 20 March 2023 and 5.00pm on Tuesday 18 April 2023 will be despatched on or around 24 April 2023.

Postal vote packs are despatched directly from the printers and cannot be picked up from the Breckland Council Office.

Postal vote packs are sent out as first-class mail and have first-class return envelopes. 

Please note:

The dates of despatch of postal vote packs can change and are subject to Royal Mail delivery times.

If there is a chance that you will not be at your address to receive your postal vote pack and have enough time to return it and for it to be received before the poll closes on 4 May 2023 then appointing a proxy to vote on your behalf is recommended.
