Breckland is a rural district with wide expanses of arable land. Audible bird scarers are sometime necessary to protect crops such as oilseed rape and vegetable crops. In order to minimise disturbance to nearby residents, the sounding of auditory scarers should be avoided before 7am and after 10pm when they are within 200m of a noise sensitive premises.
Further information is available on the NFU website.
