Rural Business
Breckland Council knows that farming in the UK is changing fast, bringing new challenges each year. From finding skilled workers to navigating government rules, we're here to support local farms and rural businesses, which are vital to our area.
We're the only council to have a dedicated Rural Business Advisor, someone who truly understands the issues faced by rural businesses. This person offers advice on funding, finance, and connects businesses with helpful networks.
We're particularly focused on helping landowners and businesses tap into new opportunities like Nutrient Neutrality and Biodiversity Net Gain. These areas are becoming more important, and we aim to help you benefit from them, whether it's through funding, advice, or making connections.
By visiting farms and having open discussions, we listen to your concerns and speak up on your behalf. Working with key organizations like the NFU, the Environment Agency, and DEFRA, we ensure that Breckland's rural communities have a voice at both local and national levels. Together, we aim to influence policies that reflect the true needs of rural life.
Our goal is to be actively involved in Breckland, addressing the issues that matter most and keeping you informed about available support. By working with you, we believe we can positively shape the future of farming in our region.
