Replacement Bin Terms and Conditions

This agreement is made between the householder ("you") and Breckland Council ("the council") and sets out the terms and conditions under which the customer may engage the bin replacement service ("the service").

  1. The bin replacement service applies when a bin is lost/stolen/misplaced/exchanged. Payment is taken in advance of the service.
  2. You may cancel the service within 14 days of the service request payment and a full refund will be provided unless the service (the bin) has already been delivered within that 14-day period or clause three applies.
  3. If you cancel the service, the Council is entitled under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to charge for the value of any service up to the date of cancellation, provided you have asked for the service to be commenced "straight away". For the avoidance of doubt a request for a replacement bin will be taken as asking the council to commence the service straight away.
  4. When you make a payment, the bin delivery process will begin, and it may take up to 10 working days for your bin to be delivered.
  5. The council will annually review service rates.
  6. The bin supplied will be clean and in a useable condition. The council reserves the right to supply bins which have been previously used. You are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the bin.
  7. Any bins that become faulty through fair wear and tear will be repaired or replaced free of charge.
