If you or anyone else is at immediate risk of harm phone the police on 999
Domestic abuse can be psychological, physical, sexual, emotional or financial and can occur in any relationship regardless of gender.
For further information about domestic abuse you can visit the following websites
The Norfolk Community Directory also provides details of domestic abuse and violence services available locally.
There are several refuges in Norfolk and more across the country which offer somewhere safe to stay for you (and your children if you have any) if you need to escape abuse. Refuges provide a space where you can have a break and make decisions without fear, they provide a supportive and understanding environment, the locations and phone numbers are kept secret. You can find out about spaces in refuges from the links above and make arrangements with them yourself without going through the Police or the Council if you would prefer.
The Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (DVDS) is often called 'Clare's Law' after the landmark case that led to it. Clare's Law gives any member of the public the right to ask the police if their partner may pose a risk to them. For more information visit theNorfolk Police website
