Why we need your personal data/what do we collect?
The types of personal information we collect may include:
- Basic personal information including name, address and contact details;
- Information relating to expressed opinions or intentions in respect of planning policy consultations;
- Information about land or property that you have submitted to the planning policy team for consideration for allocation in the Local Plan or other planning policy document.
Your information will be used to keep you informed about our Local Plan and other planning policy documents, and related events and workshops that we may hold that may be of interest to you either as a resident of the district or as a land owner or agent that has submitted land for assessment and who has shown an interest in getting involved in planning policy matters.
The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulations - in that the Council has a statutory duty to consider applications under the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
How your data is used?
The Strategic Planning Team (Planning Policy) primarily only hold your name, address and email for the purposes of keeping you informed about our Local Plan and other planning policy documents that you have requested to be notified of, or where you have submitted land for assessment.
When comments are received on public consultation events we may publish your name, organisation and comments
Who will we share your information with?
- Council Legal Services
- Judicial Agencies e.g. Courts, The Planning Inspectorate
- Other Council departments.. These may include Local Land Charges, Planning, Strategic Housing, Customer Services and Elected Members
How long the information is kept for
Information will only be kept in line with Breckland Council's Retention Policy which reflects current legislation, best practice and business need.
We will normally retain your details throughout the process of producing a Local Plan, which can take several years. Once a new Local Plan has been adopted we will consider the need to retain your information, and may contact you to check the details we hold are up to date, and that you wish to be contacted about future Local Plan work.
