What this Privacy Notice covers

Your privacy is very important to Breckland District Council.

Breckland District Council is the Data Controller responsible for the personal information you may provide in relation to abandoned vehicles. Your data may be processed by Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 2DH, Cap HPI of Capital House, Bond Court, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 5EZ and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BP.

Why we need your personal data

Your information will be used to undertake investigations and where necessary carry out enforcement action relating to abandoned vehicles. The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6.1(c) of the General Data Protection Regulations - in that the Council has a legal duty to undertake enforcement action. This legal duty is set out in the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 and the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005.

How your data is used

We will only use your data for the specific purpose of taking enforcement action relating to abandoned vehicles.

In order to undertake investigations, we may share your data with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, Cap hpi and Norfolk County Council.

How long the information is kept for

We will keep your information and all associated details for six years, at which point the information will be securely destroyed.
