Car parking in Breckland is free at all of our Breckland owned car parks

Below is a list of the car parks and their locations and at the bottom of the page a map with all car parks on:


  • Edenside Car Park, Edenside Drive, NR17 2EL (44 spaces + 2 disabled)
  • Horse Pit Car Park, London Road, NR17 2BU (21 spaces + 1 disabled)
  • Queens Square Car Park, Queens Road, NR17 2AE (101 spaces + 8 disabled) 


From mid-March 2020, drivers in Attleborough will be limited to parking for a maximum of three hours in Queens Square Car Park. The Breckland Council-owned car park will remain free to use for 3 hours with no return within 1 hour, but drivers will be required to display a ticket in their car and people who exceed the 3-hour limit will be liable to pay a fixed penalty notice. Blue badge holders will be eligible for 3 hours free stay. Edenside and Horse Pitt Car Parks will not be involved in trial and remain free to use with no time restrictions. The car parking trial will be in operation between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday. 

The Queens Square car park trial and the 3-hour time limit were requested by Attleborough Town Council.

  • Lynn Street Car Park, Lynn Street, PE37 7AU (22 spaces)
  • Market Place Car Park, Market Place, PE37 7AB (58 spaces)
  • Pedlars Car Park, Market Place, PE37 7AB (20 spaces)
  • Station Yard Car Park, Station Street, PE37 7JE ( 26 spaces + 14 lorry/coach spaces)
  • Theatre Street Car Park, Theatre Street, PE37 7HF (262 spaces +4 disabled) 
  • Town Pit Car Park, Town Pit Lane, PE37 7DA (4 spaces + 2 disabled)


On Monday 19th August a 6 month parking trial commenced at the above car parks. Parking will remain free but be restricted for 2 hours waiting with no return within 1 hour.

All users must follow the instructions on the signs at each of the above car parks asking users to enter their car registration number and obtain a voucher. If customers exceed the 2-hour time limit then they will receive a fix penalty notice.

The restrictions will apply from 8am - 6pm Monday to Saturday

If users need a longer stay car park then Theatre Street and Station Yard are available.

All car parks remain free of charge.

Disabled drivers may park in any of the car parking spaces but we do have designated disabled parking spaces

Lorry Parking: we do not have a lorry park but we do have 14 spaces for HGV's and Coaches at our Station Yard Car Park at Station Road, Swaffham

We have one 24 hour Car Park and that is Station Yard Car Park, Station Road, Swaffham
