Custom and Self-Build Register Service Terms and Conditions

This agreement is made between the applicant ("you") and Breckland Council ("the council") and sets out the terms and conditions under which the customer may apply to the Custom and Self Build Register ("the service")

Applying to the register costs £50 per application

  1. The service is an annual registration and runs for 12 months from your service start date or renewal date. Payment is made annually in advance.
  2. No refunds can be given on the application fee, which represents a recovery of the time taken in assessing applications.  This applies whether or not your application is successful.
  3. The price for annual registration will be reviewed annually.
  4. When you sign up to the service, it may take up to 5 working days to process your application. If you have not provided all the details we need, you will be contacted to advise of this, and the clock will be stopped on your application.  If you then fail to provide such details, we will decline your application and your fee will not be refunded.
  5. You will be advised of the outcome of the application, i.e. whether you are accepted to part 1 only, part 1&2, or declined.  You will have the right to challenge this decision, which will then be reviewed in 14 working days.
  6. We will email you prior to your renewal date to request payment. If payment is not received then you will be removed from the register.
  7. If you move home, either within Breckland or out of Breckland, it is your responsibility to advise us of this, or any other significant change of circumstances.  This may trigger a change in your status on the register.
  8. In the event of exceptional circumstances, we reserve the right to vary the service without notice. Prior notification of a change will be provided where possible.
