Elections and Voting
Electoral Services is responsible for compiling and maintaining the annual Register of Electors, a record of everyone who lives within the boundaries of the local authority and who is eligible to vote. We also maintain the absent voters' lists, meaning electors who choose to vote by post or through a proxy appointed to vote on their behalf.
We are statutorily responsible for organising and running local elections (county divisions, district, parish), Police and Crime Commissioner elections and national elections (UK Parliamentary) and referendums.
