Apply to vote by post online

If you can't get to your polling station on election day, you don't have to miss your chance to vote. Registered electors can apply to vote by post. 

You must be registered to vote or have recently registered to vote before you can apply for a postal vote.

You will need to provide your National Insurance number when applying for a postal vote to prove your identity.

If you wish to vote by post we recommend you register to vote and apply for a postal vote well in advance of election deadlines, in case we need to ask you for additional information to verify your identity.

Postal vote arrangements will be limited to a maximum of three years. Electors will be required to make a new application if they wish to continue to have a postal vote.
