Planning Enforcement

Planning Enforcement looks into potential breaches of planning rules and works to resolve them in the most effective way, whether through negotiation or formal enforcement action.  If development happens without the necessary permissions, the council has a range of enforcement powers to:

• Determine if a planning breach has occurred.
• Assess the harm caused by the breach.
• Take steps to resolve the issue.
