Clinical waste collections

Breckland Council provides a free collection service for clinical waste from domestic properties.

Incontinence pads, urinary catheter bags/tubes and stoma bags can be safely disposed of in your green wheeled bin. Please ensure this waste is double bagged.Let us know if you require extra bin capacity for clinical waste.

Clinical waste such as wound dressings, dialysis and blood catheters needs to be collected separately. You are able torequest or cancel a clinical waste/sharps box collection using our online form. 

Sharps boxes are now provided by your local GP services.

Please contact our contractor Serco (0330 1099 220) if you need to report a missed clinical collection.

Hazardous waste

Hazardous wastes are any solid or liquid material that may cause harm to people or the environment if not disposed of correctly. 

You can no longer dispose of liquid paint at Norfolk's Household Waste Recycling Centres. If you have old paint please consider offering it to friends or community groups, or advertise it on community notice boards. Alternatively, you can leave the paint to dry out and dispose of the paint tin in your green household waste bin.  

Norfolk County Council has free Hazardous Days, when your items can be taken to a local recycling centre.

Asbestos

Asbestos is not collected through our service or the Norfolk County Council recycling centres. Please arrange to remove asbestos by a specialist asbestos removal and disposal contractor.
